AONL Nurse Executive Fellowship Prepares Nurse Executives

The Associate Chief Nursing Officer of Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Donald A. Hislop leverages more than two decades of experience in the medical field to assist with all aspects of nursing, patient care, and quality. Active in the professional community, Donald A. Hislop belongs to the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL), in which he recently was awarded entrance into the Nurse Executive Fellowship.

Dedicated to shaping health care through expert nursing leadership, AONL provides nurses with professional development and other education opportunities, such as the Nurse Executive Fellowship. A nine-month program, the fellowship is designed for nurses who are new at working as C-suite employees.

Nurses accepted into the AONL Nurse Executive Fellowship are taught a variety of skills, including strategic thinking, C-suite communication, and board relations. This information helps nursing professionals develop the executive competencies they need to inspire nursing workforces and lead complex health systems.

The AONL Nurse Executive Fellowship is a highly interactive program that teaches these skills through a mix of dialogue with peers and lectures from expert faculty members.
